A goal by Kris Hogg put Missouri up 3-1 in the second period, but Tulsa pulled to within one on Mike Ullrich's tally 16:37 into the third period.
Hogg had one goal and two assists to lead the Mavericks. Hogg scored on the power play 10:33 into the second period to make the score Missouri. Missouri had taken the advantage when the Oilers' Gio Flamminio got sent off for hooking. Andrew Courtney picked up the assist.
The Mavericks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. By firing 37 shots on goal, Missouri exceeded the 28.2 shots it averages per game this year.
